I’ve seen it all! Be Yourself.
From spooky gothic caves to opulent castles, teepees to stately homes, or weddings that are a complete surprise to all the unassuming guests (yes, this does happen!), no matter if your style is quite traditional totally bonkers, I would love to hear from you.
I am truly passionate about my wedding videos, and love immortalising those precious, fleeting moments into films; films that can be cherished for many years to come
For me, the most rewarding aspect of capturing weddings is knowing that you as newlyweds get to relive your special day over and over, and experience all those little moments you may have missed in the excitement of your day. It’s safe to say I’ve got more than a few weddings under my belt now, so I want to share with you some tips, tricks, and advice that I have learnt on the way. Have a read below for some useful information before booking a videographer for your day.
…. but I can’t be in two places at once. This may seem like an obvious thing to say but once you start planning and realise that many things on the day will all happen at once, I can’t split myself multiple ways, especially if you choose a package that only includes myself filming throughout the day. My main focus is on you the couple – as this is your story. I will ensure to capture candid shots of your guests, and the little details you’ve spent your money and time planning, but my priority on the day is you. If you are planning a large, busy wedding or have multiple locations I’d highly recommend choosing the second shooter option in my packages and we can discuss together what you would like captured to ensure you get those moments too.
We will know each other pretty well by the time it comes to your wedding, so on the day I will make sure your bridal party know who I am and I know who they are. As well as this I genuinely love to mingle and chat with your guests, it makes them a little less camera shy! I’m a total chatterbox too so you’ll probably see me blethering to Uncle Bob as we’re setting up for the speeches! This makes the camera much less daunting and in turn your footage will capture the true moments and emotions of your guests on the day.
I pride myself on working discreetly at your event, allowing you to be in the moment and not thinking too much about being overly pose. But just remember that the video camera loves movement! So don’t worry if you hear me occasionally say things like ‘have a little giggle, or a chat, or dare I say, a kiss!’ I am also there to be your support on the day, I am not afraid to get in on the action, in amongst veils and flowers, curlers and umbrellas. I can round up the relatives, climb heights and crawl on ground to make sure you get that shot or big idea you have for your wedding day.
You’ve spent a lot of time, money and planning into this day, but it is here now, it will all go to plan, and even if it doesn’t trust me, this is what makes it your day! There may be a hair out of place, your dress may get dirty, there may be a digital noise in the background, but each mark tells a story. Try to trust your planning and now you’ve made it to the big day, enjoy every moment, even the unplanned.
Before the big day, we will do a lot of this. I don’t know what’s important to you unless you tell me. But don’t worry, I have been to many weddings and I can help you with this. If you have anything specific in mind please do let me know, no request too small, and the more information I have on the day the easier my job is and your day is. I would share this tip for all your suppliers, trust me… we don’t think you’re a bride/groomzilla! Tell us everything, we are there to help make your day magical.
You’ve spent many days, weeks, months even years planning for this day. It doesn’t all happen overnight, and I know how excited you will be to relive it time and time again. That is why the editing and final cut of your videography also doesn’t happen overnight… at peak season this can take anything from three to five months, but I promise you, it is always worth the wait! You don’t want your video back three weeks after the wedding anyway – you’ll want some time to forget the little things so that watching it back is all the more special!
