I’ve seen it all! Be Yourself.
I am passionate about immortalising precious memories into film that will be cherished for many years to come. From gothic caves to opulent castles, teepees to stately homes, or weddings that are a complete surprise (yes, this does happen!), I’ve captured them all.
No matter whether your style is traditional or totally bonkers, I would love to hear from you.
Your wedding is probably the only day of your lives where everyone you both love is gathered in the same room at the same time. You can’t experience every moment or spend time with everyone throughout the day, which is why a video is so special and why my clients often tell me it was the best decision they made when organising their wedding.
For me, the most rewarding aspect of wedding videography is knowing that you as newlyweds get to truly relive your special day.
It’s safe to say I’ve got more than a few weddings under my belt, so here are some tips, tricks, and a bit of advice that I have picked up along the way. Have a read below for some useful information before booking a wedding videographer.
…. but I can’t be in two places at once. This may seem like an obvious thing to say, but once you start planning you will realise that many things on your big day will be happening at the same time.
Think about the main things you want me to capture, and the logistics of me getting them all on film for you. If you are planning a large, busy wedding or have multiple locations, I’d recommend choosing the second shooter option in my packages so that we can leave no stone unturned.
I will film candid shots of your guests, and all the little details you’ve spent your time and money on during planning, but my priority on the day is you.
We will know each other pretty well by the time it comes to your wedding, so on the day I will make sure your bridal party know who I am and I know who they are. As well as this I genuinely love to mingle and chat with your guests, it makes them a little less camera shy! I’m a total chatterbox too so you’ll probably see me blethering to Uncle Bob as we’re setting up for the speeches! This makes the camera much less daunting and in turn your footage will capture the true moments and emotions of your guests on the day.
I pride myself on working discreetly at your event, allowing you to be in the moment and not thinking too much posing and looking perfect. But just remember that the video camera loves movement! So don’t worry if you hear me occasionally say things like ‘have a little giggle, or a chat, or dare I say, a kiss!’ I am also there to be your support on the day, I am not afraid to get in on the action, in amongst veils and flowers, curlers and umbrellas. I can round up the relatives, climb heights and crawl on ground to make sure you get that shot or big idea you have for your wedding day.
Not everything in life, or in weddings, will go 100% to plan. Relax and embrace the little imperfections – these are what make every wedding unique and special.
Now you’ve made it to the big day, trust your planning and enjoy every moment – even the unexpected.
Before the big day, we will do a lot of this. I don’t know what’s important to you unless you tell me. But don’t worry, I have filmed many weddings and I certainly can help you with this. If you have anything specific in mind please do let me know.
I share this sentiment with all your suppliers. Trust me… we don’t think you’re a bride/groomzilla! Tell us everything, we are here to help make your day magical.
You’ve spent many days, weeks, months, even years planning for this day. It doesn’t all happen overnight, and I know how excited you will be to relive it time and time again.
The editing of your video doesn’t happen overnight either. During peak season, delivery of your film can take anything from two to five months, but I promise you, it is always worth the wait! You wouldn’t want to watch your video too soon after the wedding anyway – you’ll want some time to forget the little things so that watching it back is all the more special!
